Denise Brown: End the Silence Speaking Tour Sept. - Nov. 2018
Following the 1994 murder of her sister, Nicole Brown Simpson, Denise Brown began her journey speaking on the epidemic of domestic violence. Over the past 24 years she has addressed hundreds of thousands of people at universities, communities, prisons, church groups, organizations, foundations and various educational and legislative forums.
Ms. Brown was instrumental in the success of the Vine System, an automated victim notification service of the release of batterers from jail or prison. She also testified to the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee for increased funding for the Violence Against Women Act. Subsequent to her testimony, a portion of the bill's funding was increased by fourteen-million dollars. Former U.S. Senators Biden and Hatch cited Denise Brown as "having done more for the issue of domestic violence than any other individual."
As part of her life-long commitment to the awareness, education and prevention of domestic violence, Ms. Brown will continue to speak to communities, organizations, universities and other venues during her End the Silence Speaking Tour between September and November 2018.
