Ed Hart

Ed Hart is an author and public speaker, focusing heavily in the areas of leadership, strategic planning, identifying and developing strengths, building trust, education, legacy, success in family business, mentoring, and developing relationships.   He has written several books and articles, and engages his audiences and readers through the use of personal stories from his experiences in professional sports, and over 25 years of business travel and consulting around the globe.


He is the Founder of Sports Ed 101, a leading sports education company, which specializes in educating parents and casual fans on the details of sports their kids play, and lesser known and understood sports.   He also works with athletes, corporate clients, schools, and special interest groups on developing teamwork, camaraderie, a competitive advantage through collaboration and communication.


In 2011, Hart joined the CSUF Center for Family Business, which was founded in 1995.  The Center offers education programs for leaders of family owned businesses throughout Southern California.  He also launched the first ever Family Business Hall of Fame in 2015, which will honor elite family businesses each year in Southern California.   He is currently developing several other Hall of Fame programs for leaders in a variety of ethnic groups and industries.


Prior to joining CSUF, Hart was the Director of Business Development at the USC Marshall School of Business from 2007 - 2011. He was responsible for establishing and developing new relationships with corporate partners in the area of executive education, leadership, and strategy.


He worked as a consultant to various major league sports teams for 8 years, before becoming the General Manager of a professional minor league baseball team for three seasons.  

Hart has a degree in Business Management from Pepperdine University, and certificates in Management Development, and Executive Leadership from USC.  He has written books on leadership, sports, communication, and personal development, and speaks to audiences around the globe.  He is also fluent in Spanish.


Hart is a Southern California native.  He loves USC Trojan football, Los Angeles Lakers basketball, Los Angeles Dodgers baseball, and Los Angeles Kings hockey.   He is the father of four and grandfather to 5 boys!
